Celebrate Life! Celebrate You!

It is time to celebrate you.  Come on, you can do it! Give yourself a pat on the shoulder and count your blessings.  Take time out to celebrate your victories, past and present. Permission granted – Clap your hand, stomp your feet and give a shout of praise to God.

God made you special.  You are a treasure in an earthen vessel.   You are strong, definitely stronger than you think.  Yes, you are!  Think about the seemingly insurmountable situations that you have conquered throughout your life.  Think about the midnight hour when God touched your situations.  God continues to open doors for you that no man can shut.  Thank God for His love and mercies towards you as you celebrate.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)

If God puts you on hold

There are times we make a telephone call and the person on the other end put you on hold. We don’t like to be put on hold, we expect for the other person to pick up the phone and listen.  There are times we are put on hold and we hang up because we don’t have time to wait.  I want you to know that every time you go to God he doesn’t always answer your prayer right away.  Sometimes he will answer your prayer immediately and sometimes he will say hold up, wait a minute, I’ll get back with you later, but we don’t want to hear that.  We want an answer NOW!!  We want our problem fixed now!!!  We want our deliverance now!!!  We want our financial blessing now!!! But sometimes God tell us to wait.

Remember Mary and Martha sent for Jesus to come heal their brother Lazarus.  They said tell Jesus the “the one you Love is sick”.  They assumed Jesus would drop everything he was doing and come heal Lazarus, but Jesus took his time.  By the time Jesus got to Lazarus he had been dead four days, but Jesus already knew that.   Jesus kept Mary and Martha waiting, he put them on hold.  Martha told Jesus, if you had been here, Lazarus wouldn’t have died.  Jesus had to remind Martha who he is, He is the Christ the Son of God and he can do all things.

When we hang up on God, we began to doubt who he is and what he can do. But wait before you hang up, wait before you give up.  Just know that God will be there when you need him the most.  Just know that God can speak to a dead man and he will answer from death and turn a funeral into a family reunion. Remember before you hang up, before you give up, before you quit that God is an on time God.  Your deliverance may be delayed, but don’t give up.  Your healing may not be now, but trust God.   There will be times when it seems like Jesus is so far away and he doesn’t hear us, but don’t hang up, don’t lose the connection.  Jesus has his own time clock and he is never too late.  So continue to wait on the Lord and continue to trust in him.

Pride is not only thinking we are better than others; pride is also thinking we are worse than others or just being self-conscious.  It doesn’t matter if self is always exalting itself or if it’s debasing itself. It’s all self-centeredness, which is pride. SELF is the mother of pride.

Many people think of pride only as arrogance. But that’s only one manifestation of pride. Timidity and shyness are extreme manifestations of pride.  Pride, at its core, is simply self-centeredness or selfishness. Timid and shy people are extremely self-centered people.

Like it or not, understand it or not, pride is the source of all of our anger.  The only reason we are so easily offended is because we love ourselves so much.  As we deal with our own self-love, anger toward others will be defused. As we die to ourselves, we will be able to love others the way that Jesus did.

If any man would come after me let Him deny self, take up his cross and follow me (Luke 9:23)

We are Victorious By Design

We are created in the image of God.  “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:26-27 KJV)  Our existence prior to conception was a spiritual one.  We existed in spirit form in the Kingdom of God before we were conceived.

The human body is the product of divine design.  Our bodies are the beautifully embroidered work of exquisite craftsmanship.  David declared in Psalm 139:14 (NKJV), “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”   Like a skilled potter, God molded us into form to give us our frame to carry out our purpose on earth.    “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7 KJV) Our Almighty God, the master architect carefully weaved our intricate bodies to dwells in us.

Prior to conception, God saw us and knew us.  “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”  (Psalm 139:16 NKJV)  The eyes of the Lord are upon us.  His observation of us is intentional.  Our days are already fashioned and written in His book.  All our assignments are already written for us to walk in.   “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV) Our blueprints are already completed and settled in Heaven.  All we need to do is execute this plan. Our victories start when we find and carry out God’s purpose for our lives.

How do we execute such a plan?  It’s simple.  We begin by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and by the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives we will execute this plan.  We can be confident that our victory is sure.   “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.(1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV)

Victorious living begins in our mind.  A victorious life is lived by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  We must walk in alignment with the word of God and have a continuous, productive relationship with Jesus Christ.  We must live lifestyles that allow us to hear from God.  He is always talking but are we listening and obeying so that our decisions are not based on feelings or emotions, but on the principles in the word of God.

Yet, living a victorious life is not an instantaneous thing, it is gradual and progressive.  We may face challenges but the blessing of God on our lives will enables us to overcome.  “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalms 34:19 NKJV).  Challenges come not to break us but to transform us into the image of Jesus Christ.  Despite our circumstances, we can have peace in our heart and patience to endure until our situations are resolved.

God’s thoughts towards us are settled. We are victorious by design.  Our covenant keeping God through the prophet Jeremiah, reminded His people that He had not forgotten them.  “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV).  So it is with us, God will not abandon us.  He thinks about us and never for one moment, are we out of His thoughts.

Let us move from just being stirred by the word of God to allowing the word to change our thinking and hence our life.  If you have not started, now is a great time to start living victoriously! A victorious life enjoys success because of the blessings of God.

A Wholesome Marriage

Marriage, like the church, an institution of God, is under attack and in many places; these two institutions are rapidly declining.  Many people now live together unmarried and in the process raise children and these children grow up and propagate the sin of fornication.

Marriage is the union of a man and woman in the presence of God.  When a wedding is being performed in the house of God, it is referred to as the solemnization of Holy Matrimony.   By implication, marriage is both a solemn and a holy occasion.  The context of solemn here is as in sober and thoughtful, not sorrowful.  For marriage to be wholesome, it has to be a God-centered union.

The enemies of the institution of marriage unfortunately, are not external but rather internal –the husband and the wife.  Some might argue that outsiders are the enemies of marriage, as in the admonition at weddings – “Those whom God hath put together let no man put asunder”.  Think about it for a minute.  A walled city cannot be easily penetrated.  A wholesome marriage is walled-guarded by the Holy Spirit.

For My Sister

Today as you celebrate another birthday, stand on every Word of God,
Eat every Word of God,
Make every Word your very life.

For His Word is perfect, it converts the soul
His Word is sure, it makes wise the simple
His Word is More to be desired than Gold, even much fine Gold
It is sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
You are warned by His Words
The keeping of His Words brings great rewards (Psalms 19:7-11)

Yes! Live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Duet 8:3).  You are a heir of God and joint-heir with Christ. (Romans 8:17).  Thus live by the ‘ALL-INCLUSIVE’ package of God that says His divine power has given you everything you need for life and godliness through your knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1:3)

God, your King commands victories for you. Through Him you will push down the enemies.  Through the Name of the Lord you will trample those who rise up against you. (Psalms 44:4-5)  And no good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly, those who hope in His mercies. (Psalms 84:11)

For from this day, I will bless you.  “For I have chosen you,” says the Lord of Hosts. (Haggai 2:18-23)  Let the glory of God flow through you.  Give it all.  Sow all the seeds you have been given.  Leave nothing in the barn that should have been sown in the field.

I love you my sister.  Have a blessed and wonderful birthday.

The Rose: A Delicate Replica

Have you ever looked at a rose?
And observed how it portrays passion and feelings,
For me, the long stem means the road a person must take in life;
The cracks and crevices are our stumbling blocks,
And the fine velvet petals are the patches of goodness in life: of laughter and joy; families and friends,

And in the end,
When you put these pieces together, you will realize that life was, and is beautiful,
And most importantly, you have loved,
And have found love…
All your life, no matter the season, even spring.
If you don’t believe me, look around
The sun shining through your window is enough for you to feel love.

And if you have a bad day,
Refer to this poem,
And put all the formulas together, so you can create one perfect rose …
For you, only you.
