5 Ways to Maximize Your Peace

When it comes to wellness, some people assume that it only means being well physically. Many times, someone is not physically well because they are not spiritually or emotionally well. In a world where events and activities are constantly occurring that can trigger different emotions, opinions, and reactions, we must consider our own well-being, especially learning to maintain our peace.

Here are 5 practical ways to maximize your peace:

1. Detox your spirit

Oftentimes, persons carry their burdens and the burdens of others, without giving the load to God. To maximize your peace, you must release what you are holding. Learn to let go. Learn to cleanse your mind and heart of everything that is not giving you peace. Sometimes, detoxing your spirit looks like forgiving someone. Finding peace involves making peace.

2. Spend time with God

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) says, “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee.” When you take your focus off God, you lose your sense of peace. Make an effort to spend time with God for comfort, guidance and peace. His presence makes the difference.

3. Learn to say no

Limit your commitments. Sometimes, you can create your own chaos by overcommitting yourself which causes you to feel overwhelmed. Focus only on the things that get you closer to your vision and goals. Forget the need to be looked upon as the one who always does everything. It is burning you out. There is peace in saying no.

4. Self-Care

Be aware of what you need at any given moment. Sometimes, you ignore the signs of your mind and body when it comes to taking care of yourself. You may need to get more rest. You may need a solo vacation or a scheduled appointment with a therapist. Make self-care a priority.

5. Live

It is easy to get caught up in the weekly activities of work, church, and home that you forget to live. Create harmony in your life by getting a life. Plan a trip. Get a hobby. Get active. Learn to express gratitude. Don’t just settle for being alive but learn to create experiences and make memories.

Remember, your peace has power, maximize it!
